We GROW it. We BAKE it. We SELL it. FRESH!
THE GOALS OF THE MARKET ARE :
to promote, preserve and support the Market as a source of healthy, locally-grown and produced food and goods; to preserve local sustainable agriculture; and, to enhance the quality of life in the Ottawa area by providing a community gathering place and tourist attraction.
Throughout the course of a growing season, our market attracts over fifty vendors, selling homegrown fruits, vegetables, flowers and plants and homemade bread, cakes, cookies, fudge and pies along with homemade craft items and homemade dog treats and toys! This year, our Market has attracted even more vendors…we hope to fill Jackson Street!
Every first Saturday of the month will be, “Kids Day”. Every second Saturday, the University of Illinois Extension Nutritionists will set up displays and hand out information. Every third Saturday, the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners will offer demonstrations. We will also have regular, “Guests on the Grill” and musical guests. We are planning the 2nd Annual, “Bark in the Park” and hope to have additional “Dog Days”, with dog training demonstrations. Come see what's new at Ottawa's Old Town Farmers Market! |
